When you put your whole heart into writing something, it’s both exciting and a little nerve-wracking to finally share it with the world. My hope is always that readers will find a little bit of themselves in the words I write—whether it makes them laugh, think, or feel understood.
So today, I wanted to share a couple of short passages from my book with you.
“This was in the seventies, when everyone thought Lucky Charms was a healthy breakfast and the fat-dripping, salt-sucking, calorie-loaded Big Mac a balanced meal.”
This line still makes me smile. It captures so much about how times have changed—and how our perceptions of what’s “good for us” can shift over the years.
And then there’s this one, which comes from a much more reflective place:
“It may be true that my body is three-quarters dead, but my spirit is 100 percent alive.”
For me, this sums up the resilience and spark that I believe we all carry inside us, no matter what life throws our way.
If these little glimpses made you smile or pause for thought, I’d love for you to read the rest. You can find Three Quarters Dead here and join me on the full journey.
Thank you, as always, for being here with me and for supporting my work. It means the world.
